Two local pest control companies joined forces in an effort to educate our legislators on Capitol Hill of the importance of pest management in the protection of public health and property. Debbie and Clint Miller of Clint Miller Exterminating in Mt. Pleasant alongside Ashley and Dylan Morrison of City Wide Exterminating in Locust traveled with hundreds of other pest management professionals to descend on Washington, DC.   for Legislative Day. The three-day event known as Legislative Day is hosted by the National Pest Management Association. This annual gathering focuses on joining pest management companies nationwide to highlight important legislation that will impact the industry.

This year’s Legislative Day took place February 24-26. Pest management companies, manufacturers, and industry supporters attended keynote presentations, business professionalism sessions, and most notably included appointments with legislators in both the House and Senate. “These appointments are so critical in keeping the dialogue open on issues that will affect the success of our industry and primarily the ability to protect public health across our nation,” Ashley Morrison states. “Our voices have the greatest impact when we come together in a united front,” she adds. After a long day of house and senate appointments, Clint Miller states, “Meeting with Congress members and having a chance to speak with Richard Hudson [North Carolina representative] one on one was the highlight of my trip.”

Both City Wide Exterminating and Clint Miller Exterminating look forward to attending this event next year to continue the open communication this great industry event facilitates.
